Rubber caps and rubber plugs are available for a wide range of applications, but are most often selected for applications requiring resistance to heat and chemicals.

Silicone Rubber Caps and Plugs These caps and plugs are ideal for masking parts during high temperature powder coating or e-coating processes as well as medical applications where sterilization is needed. They can resist temperatures up to 600º F while maintaining their pliable, conforming nature.

EPDM Rubber Caps and Plugs While many EPDM rubber caps and plugs are specified for their resistance to harsh chemicals and high temperatures (up to 475º F) used in anodizing and plating, these products are excellent for any application requiring a durable closure that can provide a very tight seal. The flexible material also functions well as a noise inhibitor or insulator.

Vinyl "Rubber" Caps and Plugs
Although vinyl is technically a plastic, many people refer to vinyl caps and plugs as rubber caps and plugs. In many ways, they are very similar. Both are extremely flexible and provide airtight seals. They insulate and provide a significant level of cushion to the product that they are protecting. And, while most vinyl materials will not resist the high temperature used in many powder coating curing process, high temperature resistant vinyl performs admirably in most paint curing systems.

Vinyl closures come in a wide variety of vibrant colors and are typically less costly than rubber caps and plugs.
